August 17, 2009 - A gallery of images from a Shorebird Clinic at Scarborough Marsh was added here: Views from our Shorebird Workshop. Multiple new bird species have been incorporated into my Bird Photography Index from July and August.
August 2009 Update
I've taken many thousands of images this year of a plethora of subjects but remain significantly behind on updating my website. I'm planning multiple photojournals to document my travels and have a large archive of astronomy shots from the Winter Star Party in late February/early March I haven't evaluated yet. In this case I used a DSLR, lenses and fog filters to photograph constellations. I hope to find time to actively pursue updates soon.May 24, 2009 - I revised the page, My Harley Davidsons with new 2009 images of my 1986 H-D FXR. Check it out...
May 16, 2009 - I did an interview with Bill Green that aired on his Saturday, May 16th television program, 'Bill Green's Maine' 7:00 PM on Channel 6. Mostly we discussed astrophotography and topics related to the night sky. Bill did view some of my 'daylight' shots and several of these were displayed in the segment. Bill has a great interest in the American Civil War I learned and he enjoyed investigating my art work in the office from this period. The interviews took place in my Portland office and some video was taken at Starburst Meadows Observatory while Rob Burgess and I set up the equipment for some viewing and an imaging session. May 2009 - I have nearly 30,000 exposures I've been evaluating from a month-long February photo shoot and a more recent week in the field in April; new photojournals with terrific image groups will be coming out soon...
May 1, 2009 - I added four new species to my Bird Photography Index from an April trip to Savannah, Georgia including: Least Tern; photograpahs of a young Barn Owl; a rarely viewed Chuck-will's-widow including a few shots of the nest & eggs and the Northern Rough-winged Swallow.
April 4, 2009 - I kicked off a three-month long exhibit of bird photographs displaying at the Biddeford Savings Bank in Scarborough, Maine. In this particular case the folks wished only birds with a 'Spring Returns' theme. A page was constructed of a few shots I took on the day of reception which provides a fair idea of how the exhibit appeared. Take a look if you're interested: 2009 Bird Photography Exhibit.
April 2009 - Twenty-three new species were added to my Bird Photography Index from a month long trip in February. There are more birds to be added as time permits as well as a group of new astronomy shots from the Winter Star Party in West Summerland Key, Florida (February 21 through March 1, 2009).
November 20, 2008 - I completely reorganized/revised and posted my Bird Photography Index. This modification took quite a bit of time and should prove more compelling visually with the new formatting. Please check it out...

Bird Images Update - December 28, 2006 - I was in Florida for nearly three weeks in December and had opportunities to image while there as well as on the way
south. I did a great
deal of digital capture at Skidaway Island in Georgia � a short drive to Savannah and even had a chance to spend a few hours at the J.N. �Ding�
Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island before returning. In my view this journey was quite successful and I added many new bird
species to my index. Feel free to take a look at my Bird Images.

November 11 - 13, 2005 - Steve Walters and I traveled to San Jose, California to attend the 2005 Advanced Imaging Conference. This was a great learning experience related to astroimaging and an opportunity to meet imagers & vendors from various parts of the United States.

October 2005 - I've been displaying/selling both astronomy and 'earthbound' printed images at a local gallery in Portland. Please check out this link and pay a visit to the wonderful staff at Casco Bay Frames. I have them do all my framing; if you stop in be sure to indicate I recommended their services. In December I'll be involved with an art exhibit taking place in Portland with the talented folks from the Society of East End Arts (SEA). 2005 - I became a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and attended the September 7 -9th national convention, Photoshop World, in Boston. This was a great experience and a wonderful learning period administrated by a team of Photoshop guru's that are world renowned. If you'd like more information contact me or check out the NAPP website: National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I plan to debut my 'earthbound' images section or create a satellite website soon and this is part of the process to aid that endeavor. My thanks to Scott Kelby, President of NAPP for providing the incentive for me to attend the convention. I highly recommend Scott's book, 'Photoshop CS2 for Digital Photographers'; this has been a useful aid in my pursuit.
Several of us recently formed Southern Maine Astronomers a new astronomy club that has been gaining a great deal of momentum in a short time. This will be closer to home for many of us and we'll plan activities and work with www.asnne.org, where I'll remain a member.
September 20, 2003 - Antares/Rho Ophiuchus Complex was selected as the
Anacortes Photo of the Day. This image was taken in New Mexico and represents the first of mine selected.
